It’s been a while since I did a blog update so apologies for that. Hope you all enjoyed Episode 1 of the Great British Bake Off as much as I did. It really was classic and had everything; drama, innuendo, laughter and even a cake disaster. I felt really nostalgic watching it, but it was nice watching it from my armchair with a cup of tea in hand. I think my money is on Alvin at the moment. Take a moment to look at his Instagram page, his skills are hot. I’m really looking forward to the next one. Don’t forget Extra Slice is on BBC2 on Friday night for that in-between show fix.
I’ve been super busy recently and some really exciting things going on. I’ve done loads of filming recently too, so i’ll pop up the videos as they appear. I make some bakes in quite a few of them which was great fun and you can have a go at them yourself. I’m just sat having a brew before baking for tomorrow’s afternoon tea at the Farmers Arms in Poynton. I had a late night too after being invited on the Phil Williams show on BBC Radio 5 Live which was really fab and a total scream. If anyone would like to have a go at my Serrano Ham and Manchebo filled muffins that we were eating on air last night the recipe is here:
The biggest news is that my book Bake It Great is now available on Kindle and all Kindle Apps. So if you can’t wait to get your hands on a hardback copy go ahead and download it. I’d really appreciate some feedback if you have grabbed it. Good or bad, i’d love to know. If you can spare the time to write a review on Amazon, that would be fab and i’ll send a virtual slice of cake your way as a thank you! Most of all though, share your pics of any bakes with me, i’d love to see them.
I’ve got loads of shows and book signings coming up and i’m really excited to announce i’ll be at the Waterstones of my home town of Stockport on Saturday 22nd August at 2pm. Not only will I be signing books but i’ll be showing you how to make and decorate one of the cakes from Bake It Great.
A new addition to my schedule is Southport Flower Show, i’ll be there on Sunday 23rd September so come along and say hi.
My complete schedule is here:
Right that’s all folks, have a great weekend and enjoy the (hopefully) Sunshine!
